The walks programme now needs to be filled. Details of a walk can be submitted later but if you feel able to offer to lead one or more that would be great. Please see the list of dates below.
PLEASE CONTACT John Poulton via the contact form or call 07973362778
Our walks are on Fridays fortnightly, approximately 3 to 4 miles long and start and finish at various locations.
General Request: As most of our walks start from a pub and the landlords allow us to use their carparks and often their toilets prior to the walks, out of courtesy to them, please, if you can, at the very least, on most occasions, buy a drink or otherwise, if possible, park nearby.
Car Sharing
I have a list of walkers who are interested in sharing lifts when going on our walks. If you are interested please can you let me know, please indicate which part of the town you live in so that you can be linked with walkers living nearby. I will also need your permission to share your contact details when matching folk. The arrangement can be regular or as and when convenient to suit participants.
Other u3a walking groups
There is also the Long Walks Group (6 to 7 miles) leaving at 10.00am; Medium Walks Group (5 to 6 miles) leaving at 10.00am and a 10 miles Walking Group.
Please see below for the current Walking Programme.
Our Friday walks usually start at a pub. By arriving early we are usually able to use their facilities and book our lunch/snack if required with the publican. Around the halfway point on a walk we stop briefly for a 'banana break'.
Cancellation of a walk or change of location
Please check this webpage and your emails prior to setting out to join a walk. An email will be sent by 9.00 am, at the latest, on the day of a walk if, for some reason, the event is cancelled or altered.

Walks are usually planned and led by the group members ensuring a wide variety of locations. Help in planning walks is always available and new walk leaders are encouraged. u3a policy is that dogs are not allowed on u3a walks.
If you would like to join the Short Walks group, first join the u3a, then email your u3a number and details to John Poulton
