This group investigates the various sciences (Computing, control engineering, mechanics etc..) involved in remote controlled devices such as robots, network devices and the Internet of Things (IOT).
One investigation involves the construction of a platform from a commercial robotics kit that will permit sensors, motors and computing elements to be added and interlinked such that the platform can remotely carry out tasks without human intervention. It is hoped that it can be presented as a 'robot' at the national robotics fairs somewhere in the country.
Further investigations are hoped to be conducted on the use of IOT with home networks for carrying out household tasks etc...
If you enjoy solving problems, constructing mechanical assemblies and using very simple programming languages to make controlled 'movement' commands on the assemblies then this group is the group for you.
