A sociable cycling group that explores the lanes of Worcestershire and sometimes further afield on a weekly basis. We welcome men and women who enjoy longer bike rides and a bit of a challenge. Our rides are led by different members on a weekly basis and always include cafe stops.
Rides alternate between two types:
"Long" for which David Holdsworth is the group leader - about 30 miles and with an average speed of around 12mph, but we will always wait/adjust our speed for riders whose natural pace is slower.
"Ultra" for which Steve Smith is the group leader - these can be up to 50 miles long and might be a bit quicker or include a few more hills - but again we will always wait if you are finding the going a little tough.
We normally start in Worcester at 9 or 9.30 on a Monday morning but sometimes further afield, and typically there are between 10 and 15 riders out each week. The group also likes to set the occasional challenge and support each other through that. In most recent years some riders have completed a 100 mile route after following a programme of lengthening rides to build up for the big day. We have also organised trips to a velodrome for those who fancy trying out a different type of cycling.
We welcome all kinds of bikes and new members are very welcome to join us for a trial ride or two - just get in touch with David or Steve!
