French - Intermediate

Status:Active, open to new members
Leader:
Group email: French - Intermediate group
When: Fortnightly on Thursday afternoons 2:00 pm-4:00 pm
Venue: St. James Church Hall
Cost: £1.00 per term for printing ink costs. 20p per session for tea/coffee.

The topics we have studied this year in the French Intermediate group have included: talking about ourselves and our hobbies, families and activities, where we live, asking the way and giving directions, shopping, cooking and visiting places and current events both in UK and France. We have also expressed opinions on different lifestyles and attitudes of different generations.

We have listened to CDs and watched videos with native French speakers. As there is no wifi at the venue we have to rely on our own resources to access internet sites. We are using “La Grammaire en Clair” for revision grammar exercises and excerpts from other grammar books when useful. We are now reading excerpts from the novel “Le Tresor de l’Ile” by Enid Blyton which gives us useful topics to discuss comparing different childhood experiences.

We meet in the Beechill Room at St James Church, Norton, which is very light and pleasant with excellent facilities. We have space for new members and hope to welcome them in our next session.
