We meet in the Mackenzie Room(Boardroom) which is on the first floor, accessed by a flight of stairs.

The aim of the group is to continue to learn vocabulary and some necessary grammar; to become more confident in speaking and listening to French whilst on visits to France; and also to be able to read and translate written text and easy French books/novels.

At the beginning of each term, the group discusses and selects what topics they wish to cover for that term, and sessions are set accordingly.  During the last year, some of the topics covered were ordering and dining in a restaurant, learning menu content; researching and reserving accommodation, and dealing with problems on arrival; visiting a pharmacy for minor ailments; weather and directions.

The group really enjoys reading and translating topics, including short stories, and are at present reading a novel “Meutre rue Saint-Jacques” by France Dubin.
