Restarting Monday 5 October 2026 at 2 pm and every fortnight thereafter until, and including, 22 March 2027, excluding 28 December 2026

The venue once again is Perdiswell Young, People’s Leisure Centre, off the Droitwich Road, at the end of the U-shaped access road at the traffic lights, with off-road parking and convenient for the Garden Center, Lidl and the 144 bus.  Comfee chairs with big pull-down screen & ceiling projector for Powerpoint presentations. Alas, capacity limited to 25.

This season's theme is collapse: why did the Maya abandon their Rain Forest Cities? Why did the Palaces on the Peloponnese fall and the one at Knossos burn? Where did the Hittites go after Hattusas was abandoned? What is the back story of the enigmatic Sea Peoples and why we should beware of Pharaoh writing history?

Although I stopped foreign travel during COVID and never resumed, I have an archive of photographs from past Study Tours as well as plans, maps, reference pics and updates from the Internet to draw on. Those of you still able to visit far flung places with historical associations are welcome to share your photos and knowledge with the group.
