  • Description: Paths, tracks, and lanes, rough underfoot in places, steady climbs but nothing too steep
  • Additional Information: The Clee Hills lie between Bridgnorth and Ludlow rising to the twin summits of Brown Clee and Titterstone Clee Hill, both of which are occupied by radio masts. This walk climbs to Abdon Burf, the summit of Brown Clee which at 540m is not only the highest point in Shropshire but the highest point anywhere in the Heart of England. Although the ascents and descents are gradual and easy, there is some rough and boggy terrain near the tops and so this is a walk best done on a fine day as in misty weather there are places where route finding could be difficult unless you are experienced in using a compass. Much of the walk is across a working, private common (Clee Liberty), owned by Clee St Margaret Parish Meeting. Throughout the walk the extensive views over the surrounding hills of Shropshire and Worcestershire are magnificent.
  • Difficulty: Moderate effort required; rough underfoot in places, steady climbs but nothing too steep - ascents and descents are gradual.
  • Refreshments: Please ensure you bring adequate food and fluids for a coffee and lunch break.
