If you are experiencing a family estrangement, you are not alone.
One in seven grandparents are denied access to their grandchildren here in the UK. In the US it’s worse as one in four grandparents are completely cut out of family life. You may feel stigmatised and isolated. This is an uncomfortable and all too common feeling for so many of us.
Worcester U3a now has the first of it’s kind private support group, welcoming U3a members currently (or previously) going through this trauma. We meet in a quiet corner of a Worcester coffee house where no one is judged or rejected because of their situation. Come and share your story or just listen to others’ experiences. The purpose of the group is to support and uplift those looking for a way forward.
Signing up for this group will be kept confidential and will start discreetly in September 2025. The meetings will take place on the first Friday of each month, time: 10am-11.30am, venue to be confirmed to you by email once you have joined the group.
There will be a ‘Sign-Up Here’ desk headed “EG” at the Groups Fair in August if you would like to find out more.
Whatever you do, don’t suffer in silence. There are like-minded friends among you, so please join today.
