The general level of the group is flexible and between A2 and B2 which effectively is between GCSE and A level.

It is for Spanish enthusiasts who wish to practise conversation in a relaxed and supportive environment. In the true spirit of U3A it is a self help and collaborative group. We function on the basis that all members are willing to lead at least one session a year and/or create a light hearted quiz. Sessions can include vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, listening, reading and writing skills. We also look at items on Spanish and South American culture for discussion.

During 2024/5 we covered topics such as: verb tenses, prepositions, pronouns, figures of speech, as well as reading through a short Spanish novel.

Our novel for 2025/6 will be “El cadáver del puente” by Teresa Garviar.

To allow everyone to be actively involved and contributing to conversation the group is limited to 14 people. We currently have a short waiting list for potential new members.
