Let us be lovely and let us be kind,
Let us be silly and free.
It won't make us famous It won't make us rich
But dammit how happy we'll be... Edward Monkton
“Easier done than said!”
It’s hard to describe this course so feel free to come along and try a taster session.
No obligation.
It won’t be embarrassing. You won’t be singled out.
[If you already like any of Pilates, crosswords, quizzes, theatre visits, Thai Chi, meditation, tennis, singing, languages, walking or none of those – this might be for you!]
What’s the aim?
Well-being through playfulness.
As children we learn through play – and then we just stop! Increasingly research shows how important playfulness is. The more we play, the better our ideas and the more creatively we think. Maintaining a playful attitude nourishes and relaxes us.
We don’t stop playing because we grow old, we grow old because we stop playing. George Bernard Shaw
What’s it for?
- To stay Flexible – in mind and body:
- To maintain your mental flexibility & memory
- To do something that engages both brain and body
- To share something with other people & feel a bit creative!
What will it involve?
We will play games. Games that are:
verbal / thoughtful / social / physical / mindful / and quick-thinking
And games that encourage the memory.
How will it feel?
Safe supportive fun!
No-one will be put on the spot. Everyone will be valued.
A shared experience.
How long will it last?
Each session will be an hour.
It will be mostly on our feet.
Come and try! It’s fun!
