The Worcester u3a organisation makes use of computing facilities for both recording and communicating events/data regarding u3a members. This group provides training and trouble shooting opportunities for members with both their own computing devices and u3a IT systems (Beacon, Website).

The sessions will commence again for Autumn 2025/26 from Nov 6th, providing face-to-face guidance on using u3a related IT systems, at Mount Battenhall Retirement Village starting at 10am. Attendees of the 2 hour Sessions will be expected to bring their own IT device and where appropriate have carried out pre-attendance installation instructions such that they will be able to immediately commence the training instructions during the sessions. There will be a maximum of 4 attendees per session who will usually be guided by 2 instructors. Guidance will be in the form of slides, demonstrations and exercises.

The first 3 sessions will focus on Group Leader interaction with Beacon and/or the Worcester u3a Website. These will be repeated dependent on demand. Sessions starting in the new year will provide opportunities for any Wu3a members to become more proficient with their own IT devices (Laptop, workbook etc...) including addressing emailing issues, transferring data/media between devices and providing reliable back-up procedures for your devices. Watch this space for further info on the general IT proficiency training sessions.
